Everyone loves a holiday, but no one loves planning one.
From choosing flights and hotels to finding the best restaurants, activities, and experiences, it’s exhausting. You don’t want to pick something average (especially when you’re spending a lot of money), but the research process is endless.
📝 The biggest challenges:
- Too much choice – where do you even start?!
- Fear of picking the wrong thing – what if there’s something better?
- So many sources to check – Google, Instagram, blogs, TripAdvisor, TikTok, travel websites, Google Maps… it never ends.
- Getting everyone to agree – group trips = chaos.
- Balancing a packed itinerary vs. leaving room for spontaneity.
I personally spent 24 hours planning a 24-hour trip to Paris. And I’ve done the same for so many other trips – group getaways, romantic weekends, long-haul adventures. It’s always a process.
But can tech actually make this easier?
The Tech That Can Help (But Still Has Limits)
There are so many tools out there to help with planning—but which ones actually make a difference?
💡 AI & ChatGPT → Amazing for quick itinerary planning, but it still needs good prompts and a human touch to personalise it.
💡 Instagram & TikTok → Great for seeing real videos of places before you go, but still time-consuming to scroll through everything.
💡 Travel agents still exist → The most stress-free option, but comes with a cost.
💡 Planning apps → I’ll be reviewing Bridebook for wedding planning, Splitwise for group budgeting, and other event & travel tools.
🔹 What tech is missing? Booking flights & hotels is easy, but finding the right restaurants, experiences, and activities still feels like a mess.
